My name is Libby Coburn.  I am one of the Special Education teachers for 4th and 5th grade at CIS.  I am so excited to be teaching at CIS!!  I have taught 13 years in the general education classroom.  I have a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from the University of Mobile.  I am currently completing my Master's in Special Education at UWA.  I am originally from a small town south of Mobile, AL.  I moved to this area in April of 2021.  I taught 5th grade math at JIS last year.  I love teaching and working with students, it is my passion!

I have two daughters, who graduated from the University of Alabama.  They are both married and working in their career.  They each have one son, one is 8 years old and the other is 4 years old.  These boys are my heart!  My favorite thing to do in my spare time is playing with my grandsons.  I  also enjoy traveling with my family, reading, and shopping at antique/resale shops.  I also have a Maltipoo fur baby named Gumbo.
